First generation
- 3.2 litre V6
- 4.5 litre V8 in the S
- 4.5 litre twin turbo V8 in the Turbo and Turbo S
Plastic coolant pipes in the engine valley on the V8 cars, transfer case wear and the prop shaft centre bearing are the first things we look at.
Coolant loss, drivetrain vibration, uneven ride height or a service due? We identify your Cayenne by chassis number, test the reported fault and explain the repair before you approve it. Oil and filter service estimates start at AED 650 including VAT, with the final price matched to your engine.
These existing workshop planning estimates include VAT for the stated work. They are not fixed prices for every Cayenne.
One accessible repair with routine fitting. Confirm the part, coolant allowance and leak checks. Hidden pipes, pumps and additional leaks are separate. See coolant repair inclusions.
Specified ATF, applicable filter or pan, seals, labour and temperature-dependent level checks. Valve-body and converter repairs are excluded.
Agreed component work, access labour, seals, related fluids and required setup. Complete gearbox and unrelated clutch damage are excluded. These transmission estimates require confirmation for the fitted gearbox.
Transfer-case, air-suspension and internal-engine repairs need an identified fault and parts list before a meaningful total. A specialist assessment can have a different fee from the initial general diagnostic assessment. Agree any additional charge first.

These workshop estimates help you plan the first visit. Confirm your engine, the work included and the final total before approval.
Approved oil within the agreed fill quantity, filter, routine labour and service checks. Additional repairs are separate. For combustion and hybrid engines only.
Complaint review, accessible module scan and agreed initial checks. Extended tracing, dismantling, programming and parts are separate. Confirm whether the assessment fee is credited against a repair.
List only the items due for your car. Spark plugs, brake fluid, coolant and gearbox work are separately itemised when required. Tyre rotation depends on approved wheel fitment.
Repair totals follow testing. Your quote should identify parts, quantities, labour, fluids, VAT, exclusions and warranty terms. No universal repair price applies across these Cayenne versions.
Send the VIN, symptoms and warning photos. Confirm the initial tests, fee and availability. Ask whether the fee is credited against approved work. Additional tracing or dismantling needs a separate agreed allowance.
The findings should distinguish a leak or electrical fault from a failed assembly. Ask whether a targeted repair is suitable, whether replacement is necessary and which genuine or compatible parts are proposed. Rebuilt or exchange assemblies need their own condition and warranty terms.
Your written quote should list parts, labour, fluids, setup, VAT and exclusions. The workshop confirms assessment time and repair timing separately, after checking access and parts availability. Collection arrangements and charges must be agreed before booking.
Request saved fault codes, relevant measurements and photographs supporting the recommendation. Confirm whether warranty covers parts, labour or both, its time or mileage limits, exclusions and claim process. Keep the invoice and completed-work record.
955 and 957 belong to the first generation, 958 to the second, and 9YA SUV and 9YB Coupe to the third. These launch periods are guides, not registration year rules. Your VIN, engine code and equipment determine the parts and maintenance schedule.
Plastic coolant pipes in the engine valley on the V8 cars, transfer case wear and the prop shaft centre bearing are the first things we look at.
Glued coolant pipe connectors, the rear coolant connector near the firewall and the same drivetrain checks as the 955.
Check transfer case behaviour, cooling, oil leaks and starting faults according to symptoms. Confirm any open campaign by VIN and market.
Check warning codes, cooling and suspension equipment. Specific bulletins apply only to the stated model year and confirmed fault.
A coolant leak, suspension warning or drivetrain shudder needs a different test. We agree the initial assessment, inspect the relevant system and explain what the findings support. Additional dismantling or repairs require a separate written quote and your approval.
Porsche revealed the fully electric Cayenne in November 2025 and gave it its first public showing in Dubai. Electric drive work follows the same high voltage rules explained further down this page.
These components describe combustion Cayennes and relevant hybrid layouts. Early manual versions need clutch and manual gearbox checks. Cayenne Electric uses a different drivetrain and is not covered by this diagram.
Use this table to identify your engine family. The checks depend on symptoms and service history, and do not mean every listed engine has a defect.
| Engine | Generations | Type | First checks we make |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3.2 and naturally aspirated 3.6 V6 | 955, 957, 958 | Petrol | Misfire codes, ignition and cooling, with timing tests only when indicated |
| 3.6 twin turbo V6 | 958 facelift S and GTS | Petrol | Boost and misfire diagnosis, cooling and oil leaks |
| 4.5 V8 and 4.5 twin turbo | 955 | Petrol | Valley coolant pipes, bore condition, oil leaks |
| 4.8 V8 direct injection | 957, 958 | Petrol | Coolant connectors, timing chain guides, valve cover gaskets |

| 4.0 V8 twin turbo | 9Y0 | Petrol | Cooling, oil leaks, air suspension |
| V6 and V8 E Hybrid | 9Y0 | Hybrid | 12 volt checks, hybrid warnings, referral for high voltage faults |
Pick the symptom closest to yours. Each card suggests a system to investigate and links to the relevant repair information. Symptoms alone do not identify the failed part.
Shudder under load, jerking or vibration may involve the transfer case, tyres, mounts, gearbox or prop shaft. Record when it happens so the road test can reproduce the complaint safely. Our Cayenne transfer case shudder guide explains how each cause is told apart.
Repeat the symptom with the customer if possible, noting speed, load and gear.
Read every control unit, not only the engine, and save the codes before anything is cleared.
Check approved front and rear sizes, tyre pressures, tread wear and rolling circumference. Factory staggered sizes must be retained where specified.
Check the centre bearing, flex discs and gearbox mounts on the lift.
Actuator, fluid, internal repair or a replacement unit, quoted with the evidence.

First generation Cayennes are known for a noisy prop shaft, with thumping and clunking on acceleration or gear changes. The rubber mount in the centre support bearing tears under continuous stress.
Dubai heat makes cooling faults show up faster. The weak point moves with each generation, so the first check moves too.
Porsche technical information covers coolant pipe inspection on model year 2003 to 2006 V8 cars. Check whether plastic pipes remain or an aluminium update is already fitted. Confirm the leak before recommending replacement.
Inspect V8 coolant connections, hoses and housings during a pressure test. Confirm the leaking component and current replacement part by engine and VIN.
Check the pump, thermostat, housings and cooling controls fitted to the engine. A fault code directs testing and does not, by itself, justify replacing an assembly.
Check coolant control components against the exact engine and fault data. Hybrid cooling circuits require separate identification before work.
Steel springs, adaptive dampers and air suspension vary by model year and equipment. On cars with air suspension, low ride height or excessive compressor operation calls for leak, pressure, sensor and electrical checks before parts are selected.
Porsche bulletin 43 of 2025 concerns model year 2023 9YA and 9YB with air suspension codes 1BK, 2MA or 2MB. It specifies replacing both front struts only when the described plastic welded seam leak is confirmed. If that leak is absent, diagnosis continues.
US campaign AH08 includes certain model year 2011 Cayenne S and Turbo vehicles. It is not a blanket recall for every 2010 to 2012 Cayenne. Ask a Porsche Centre to confirm VIN and market eligibility before paid work.
A no crank fault needs 12 volt supply, wiring, start authorisation and starter testing where fitted. Do not assume the starter is faulty from the symptom alone.
Read wheel speed data and inspect wiring and sensor signals. Replace only confirmed faulty parts unless an applicable campaign for that VIN requires otherwise.
Trace the source of oil before quoting a cover or gasket. Check current technical information against the engine, model year and leak location.
Inspect drains, seals and the leak path on cars with a panoramic roof. Water in the cabin can have more than one cause.
Weak supports can allow the tailgate to fall. Keep clear of an unsupported tailgate and have the correct supports assessed.
The 958 S Hybrid pairs a supercharged 3.0 litre V6 with an electric motor and a nickel metal hydride battery. The S E Hybrid from 2014 and the 9Y0 E Hybrid models are plug in hybrids with a high voltage system.
High voltage battery opening, isolation, motor, inverter and orange cable work are referred to a Porsche Centre or appropriately qualified EV specialist. A 12 volt battery check does not measure traction battery health. Cayenne Electric enquiries require confirmation of the exact work outside the high voltage system before booking. Combustion oil and spark plug services do not apply to it.
The VIN, engine, model year and original market determine the maintenance checklist. Follow time or distance, whichever comes first. Dubai use may justify additional condition checks, but it does not create one replacement interval for every Cayenne.
Confirm approved oil and fill quantity, spark plugs, air filter, belts and brake-fluid due dates. Naturally aspirated, turbocharged and supercharged engines do not share every item.
Use the market-specific diesel checklist for oil, fuel filter, water draining and emissions equipment. AdBlue work applies only where fitted. Diesel engines do not have spark plugs.
Confirm engine maintenance alongside hybrid-specific items. The earlier supercharged 958 differs from later turbocharged models. High voltage work is referred to qualified specialists.
No engine oil or spark plug service applies. Follow the schedule issued for the vehicle. Confirm our ability to perform the requested non-high-voltage work before booking.
Gearbox, transfer case and differentials are separate services. Identify each fitted unit and its own fluid, filter, level-check method and interval. A fluid change is not a guaranteed cure for shudder or internal damage. Record the reason for any earlier recommendation.
A used Cayenne can be a good buy in Dubai, but the checks change with the generation. These are the items we look at first during a pre purchase inspection, before the general body, tyre and brake checks.
Request a written inspection report with relevant photos, saved fault codes and any limitations, so you can assess the findings before buying.

Technical documents help identify relevant checks. VIN, equipment and market eligibility still need confirmation.
955 and 957 are the first generation and its facelift. 958 is the second generation. The third generation, introduced in 2017, includes 9YA SUV and 9YB Coupe. Registration year can differ from model year, so use the VIN to confirm.
No. Tyres, mounts and the prop shaft can cause the same feeling. We test those first and only quote a transfer case when the evidence points there.
No. The plastic pipe inspection guidance cited here concerns model year 2003 to 2006 V8 cars. Some already have aluminium pipes. Check the fitted parts and source of any leak before deciding on work.
On first generation cars the prop shaft centre bearing is a common cause. Flex discs, mounts and control arms are checked at the same time.
Enquire about brakes, tyres, suspension, 12 volt checks and engine maintenance. We confirm the safe work involved before booking. High voltage battery, motor, inverter and cable work require referral to a suitably equipped EV specialist or Porsche Centre.
It is often air suspension, from a leaking strut, a height sensor or the compressor. Low battery voltage can trigger it too. Our suspension fault page explains when it is safe to drive.
No. Each generation uses its own drivetrain parts and control software, so parts and repair options are confirmed by chassis number. We never assume a part from another Cayenne will fit.
Stop safely and let the engine cool. Driving on with low coolant in Dubai heat risks engine damage that costs far more than the leak itself. Call us and we can advise on recovery.
Use the maintenance schedule for the VIN, model year, engine and original market, following the time or distance limit that comes first. Petrol, diesel, hybrid and Electric versions have different service items. A recommendation based on dust, heat or condition is separate from the manufacturer schedule.
The interval depends on the petrol engine, model year and market. Confirm both time and distance limits in the vehicle schedule. Diesel and fully electric Cayennes do not have spark plugs. Do not apply a Turbo or hybrid interval to every Cayenne.
Follow the schedule and fluid specification for the fitted gearbox. Tiptronic, transfer-case and differential services are separate operations and may have different intervals. Confirm each by VIN and market. An earlier condition-based recommendation should state its reason and is not a replacement for the factory schedule.
The published oil and filter estimate is AED 650 to 1,600 including 5 percent VAT, subject to engine and oil quantity. Initial diagnostics are AED 200 to 500 including VAT. Larger services and repairs need an itemised quote. Extra tests, fluids and parts are not automatically included.
Ask us when you book. Any collection arrangement and its cost are confirmed on the quote, not promised in advance.
Ask a Porsche Centre to confirm open campaigns using the VIN and original market. It confirms eligibility, completion history and any applicable recall work at no charge. A technical bulletin is not automatically a recall or free repair.
It can be, if coolant pipes, transfer case, prop shaft and suspension have been looked after. A pre purchase inspection tells you which of those are still due.
Genuine Porsche parts are matched to the VIN and fitted equipment. If a compatible or repaired assembly is offered, its manufacturer, specification and warranty should be identified separately. Confirm part numbers, labour and VAT before approval.
Send your chassis number and symptom to discuss the initial checks. The workshop confirms availability, assessment cost and expected timing before your visit. An enquiry is not a confirmed booking. Repair timing depends on diagnosis and parts availability.
