Porsche Taycan Fault Diagnosis in Dubai

Charging stops, the car will not wake up or a warning keeps returning? Start with an agreed assessment of the message and the conditions in which it appears. Initial checks are estimated at AED 200 to 500 including VAT. Extended diagnosis, repairs and any specialist referral are explained and quoted separately.

Taycan repair costs in Dubai

These planning estimates include 5 percent VAT and the work listed below. Your written quote confirms the vehicle specification, parts, labour and exclusions before approval.

Initial diagnostic assessment

AED 200 to 500

Complaint review, accessible fault scan and agreed initial checks. Extended tracing, programming, dismantling and HV testing are separate.

Four-wheel alignment

AED 250 to 450

Routine measurement and adjustment with labour. Worn parts, calibration and extra adjustment work are separate.

Standard iron-disc brake pads

AED 1,900 to 3,200

Compatible pads for one confirmed axle with routine fitting. Sensors, discs and extra hardware are separate. Excludes PSCB and PCCB systems.

Specified 12V lithium battery

AED 7,500 to 10,500

Planning budget for the approved unit, routine fitting and required setup, only after diagnosis and service availability are confirmed. Not a traction battery.

Scheduled service, suspension parts, tyre supply and charging repairs need an itemised quote. A diagnostic fee is not the price of the repair. Additional testing or replacement work requires a separate agreement. Battery prices do not imply that every low-voltage fault requires replacement.

Taycan service and repair

Separate a Taycan fault from routine maintenance

Send the exact warning, model year, charging type and when the interruption occurs. Mention whether it happens at one charger or several. These observations guide the agreed checks without proving a battery fault. Routine brake, tyre and maintenance work remains available below, with high-voltage or warranty cases referred where appropriate.

Scheduled maintenance

Checks matched to the applicable service schedule, cabin filter, brake fluid when due, tyres, brakes and visible underbody condition.

Warnings and charging

Initial fault records, complaint review and accessible checks. AC and DC symptoms are separated before further testing is agreed.

Brakes and chassis

Measured pad and disc assessment, tyre wear, alignment and suspension inspection. Parts are matched to the actual brake and suspension system.

Traction-battery opening, module repairs and high-voltage component repairs are outside the work offered on this page. Manufacturer recall and warranty decisions belong with Porsche.

Know your car

Match parts to the model year and equipment

Porsche substantially updated the Taycan in 2024. The figures below describe selected configurations, not every car. The updated range also includes a smaller battery option, so 105 kWh must not be assumed from the year alone. Model year, build data and actual fitted equipment matter more than registration date alone. Imported cars may have different charging equipment.

12 volt work and high voltage work are not the same job

The low-voltage supply wakes and supports the control systems. The traction battery supplies propulsion. A charged traction battery does not rule out a low-voltage fault. The quote must identify which system is being assessed.

12 V

The small battery

Powers locks, screens, control units and wakes the car up. When it is weak the car can refuse to start or show many warnings at once.

  • Chemistry-specific diagnosis before replacement
  • Connections, DC/DC supply and drain checks as required
  • Accessible fault records and relevant measured values
  • Software status check

12 volt battery page

Specified lithium batteries need the applicable Porsche diagnostic procedure and suitable equipment. A conventional AGM tester result cannot establish their condition. Protection shutdown can resemble battery failure. Do not substitute an AGM battery for a specified lithium unit.

800 V

The traction battery

Supplies the electric drive and sits beneath the passenger compartment. Capacity and construction vary. Internal battery assessment and repairs are referred, not included in a routine low-voltage check.

  • Work only by qualified high voltage technicians
  • System isolated and proven dead before touching
  • Battery module repairs handled by Porsche
  • Warranty eligibility confirmed for the individual car

Do not touch damaged orange cables or battery components. Isolation alone does not make all battery internals safe.

The right assessment

Know what the appointment includes

Routine maintenance, initial diagnosis and high-voltage repair are different jobs. We agree the assessment and price first, then explain the findings and any further work. A scan identifies stored faults and test directions, not automatically a failed component.

We do not open or repair traction batteries. A specialist lithium-battery procedure or work near high-voltage parts is accepted only after the required personnel, equipment and procedure are confirmed for that task.

Before work

Confirm the complaint, work included, estimated cost and expected assessment time. Parts supply and referral can affect completion time.

After assessment

Request the recorded findings, tests completed, limitations and next-step quote. A warning code alone is not proof that a battery needs replacing.

Before repair approval

Confirm the parts, labour, any specialist involvement and written repair warranty. The provider, period, exclusions and remedy should be clear before approval.

Charging

How fast a Taycan charges, from wall to motorway

Charging power depends on the fitted battery and charger equipment, available station power, voltage, battery temperature and state of charge. Peak figures are not sustained throughout a session. Porsche’s 2024 Taycan update explains the conditions behind its published figures.

11 kW ACCommon AC specification, subject to model year and market
22 kW ACWhere the car has compatible optional equipment and the supply supports it
225 to 270 kW DCFirst generation peak on a fast charger
Up to 320 kW DCRevised generation peak, 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes under specified conditions

Charging faults, checked in order

Charging failure can come from the supply, cable, port, controls or vehicle systems. Tell us whether AC, DC or both fail, and whether the problem occurs at more than one location. We record findings before recommending parts. Do not retry charging with damaged pins, heat, smoke or an electrical warning requiring you to stop.

Maintenance due

Maintenance matched to time, mileage and condition

Use the service reminder and applicable Porsche schedule for the model year and market. Time and mileage both matter. Some schedules specify maintenance at two years or 30,000 km, whichever comes first, with additional market requirements. We identify the items due rather than selling a petrol-car oil service.

Every visit
  • Tyre wear and pressures
  • Brake pads, discs and hoses
  • Low-voltage assessment as applicable
  • Fault records and campaign referral where relevant
When scheduled
  • Brake fluid
  • Cabin particle filter as scheduled
  • Wipers and washer fluid checked
  • Underbody and cables inspected
As worn
  • Tyres, often sooner on a heavy fast car
  • Pads and discs, often later thanks to regeneration
  • Wiper blades
  • 12 volt battery
Coolant checks
  • Check level, leaks and the applicable coolant instructions. Replacement or circuit work depends on the procedure and findings.

There is no combustion-engine oil, spark-plug or exhaust service. The rear transmission still contains lubricants and clutch mechanisms, so drivetrain faults need their own assessment. Regeneration does not remove the need for friction-brake inspection. Disc type, corrosion, thickness and pad condition determine the work.

Dubai heat

How the Taycan keeps its battery comfortable

The traction battery is joined to the car cooling circuit through pipes and a coolant pump, so it can be cooled or heated. Cooling plates sit under the battery box. The battery can also soak up waste heat from other liquid cooled high voltage parts.

PreconditioningBattery conditioning targets an operating or charging temperature according to vehicle settings and conditions. Cabin preconditioning is not the same as preparing the battery for rapid charging.
Charging speedTemperature can limit charging power. Persistent poor charging needs assessment rather than being dismissed as normal.
Coolant leaksAny leak or warning is a reason to stop and call, not to top up and drive
Battery health

Battery warranty and assessment limits

Porsche Dubai publishes the battery guarantee figures below. Time or mileage limits apply, whichever comes first. Eligibility, exclusions and any claim must be confirmed by Porsche for the particular vehicle. These are manufacturer terms, not this workshop’s repair warranty.

8 yearsor 160,000 km for the high voltage battery
80 percentof net capacity guaranteed for up to 3 years or 60,000 km
70 percentminimum from then until the battery warranty ends
What a battery assessment can tell you
Fault scanRecords accessible faults and relevant values. It does not measure usable battery capacity.
Charging checkRecords the conditions and behaviour observed. One session does not establish long-term battery health.
Capacity testNeeds a defined method and suitable equipment. No certified capacity test or warranty decision is included in the initial assessment offered here.

Dashboard range depends on use and conditions. It should not be presented as a battery state-of-health percentage. Ask a Porsche Centre about manufacturer-supported capacity assessment and warranty eligibility.

What we look at

The parts that wear on a heavy, fast electric car

  • TyresCheck tread, inner edges, pressures and the correct size, load rating and fitment. Wear depends on use, alignment and specification.
  • BrakesRegeneration saves pads but can leave discs rusty, so surfaces matter as much as thickness
  • SuspensionIdentify the fitted suspension before assessing dampers, air springs where fitted, arms and ride height.
  • UnderbodyBattery cover and cables checked for impact damage
Buying a used Taycan

Check the battery and the recall history before you pay

A used Taycan inspection should define the body, chassis, road-test and accessible electronic checks included. Request service records, battery warranty details and Porsche confirmation of campaign status before committing to purchase. Resolve applicable safety restrictions with Porsche before driving or charging. An inspection cannot guarantee future battery life.

Pre purchase inspection

  1. Open recall campaigns for the chassis number
  2. Battery warranty dates and remaining cover
  3. Accessible fault records and any access limitations
  4. AC and DC charging test where possible
  5. Tyres, brakes and underbody damage
  6. Service history against time and mileage requirements

Tell us the year and what you notice

Your model year and a short description are enough to start. A warning photo or charging-station message can help if it is safe to capture. We ask for the chassis number privately when parts or campaign identification needs it.

  1. The symptom or service reminder
  2. When it happens and your preferred appointment
  3. An optional warning photo
Questions

Porsche Taycan questions

Straight answers about servicing an electric Porsche in Dubai.

Call 056 464 6081Ask on WhatsApp

Does a Porsche Taycan need an oil change?

No engine oil change is required because the Taycan has no combustion engine. Its drivetrain still contains lubricants and clutch mechanisms. Follow the applicable Porsche instructions for transmission work rather than a petrol-car service package.

How often should a Taycan be serviced?

Use the service reminder and the applicable model-year and market schedule, including mileage limits. Some schedules specify two years or 30,000 km, whichever comes first. Brake fluid and cabin filter requirements are checked separately.

Can you replace the Taycan battery?

This page covers low-voltage enquiries and excludes traction-battery repair or replacement. A specified 12V lithium unit needs the correct diagnostic procedure, equipment and part. Protection shutdown can resemble failure, so replacement is not automatic. Service availability is confirmed before accepting specialist work.

Why will my Taycan not start or wake up?

A low-voltage supply issue is one possibility, alongside connections, battery protection, DC/DC charging or control faults. The exact warning and measured results determine the next test. Do not use a generic battery test alone to condemn a specified lithium battery.

Why is my Taycan charging slowly?

Temperature, state of charge, vehicle equipment, station voltage and available power affect speed. Tell us whether AC, DC or both are affected. Persistent problems need assessment, but a single low peak figure does not prove battery damage.

Do you install home chargers?

No. Home electrical installation is separate from vehicle repair. Use an appropriately authorised electrical contractor and follow current DEWA requirements for the installation.

Is there a recall on my Taycan?

An authorised Porsche Centre should confirm current campaign eligibility and completion against your chassis number. Follow the specific owner notification and any interim driving or charging restrictions.

Can an independent workshop service a Taycan?

An appropriately equipped workshop can perform agreed maintenance and repairs within its competence. We offer the routine work and initial assessment described here. Traction-battery opening, module repair and high-voltage component repair are referred.

Do Taycan brakes wear out quickly?

Regeneration can reduce friction-brake use, but wear and corrosion still need inspection. The actual brake system, pad condition, disc surface and measurements determine whether repair or replacement is needed.

Does Dubai heat harm the Taycan battery?

Thermal management controls battery temperature, but charging power can still be limited by conditions. Persistent warnings, coolant loss or reduced performance need assessment. Follow any stop instruction rather than assuming heat explains the fault.

Does a Taycan have a spare wheel?

Check the equipment supplied with the specific car. A sealant kit, inflator or proposed spare must suit the wheel and tyre specification. Do not assume every Taycan has the same emergency equipment.

What should I check when buying a used Taycan?

Check service history, current recall status, warranty eligibility, accessible faults, charging behaviour where safely testable, tyres, brakes and underbody condition. Agree the inspection limits in advance. A scan is not a measured battery-capacity certificate.
